eBookBase for Publishers

eBookBase is a secure wholesale and DRM distribution center for publishers seeking to sell their eBook through a growing network of Book and eBooksellers.

After completing the application form, publishers will receive notice of acceptance. Member Publishers may then upload their eBook titles in the crossplatform Mobipocket format , and marketing data to create their wholesale digital book repository.

eBookBase provides publishers a single location to manage their wholesale inventory and update marketing, digital rights and pricing information. A single copy of an eBook securely fills orders from dozens of member retailers.

Mobipocket 's Digital Rights Management (DRM) servers provide the secure delivery of eBook products directly to customers through a Retailer's website.

Sell your own ebooks with secure DRM distribution: You can also sign up as a Retailer in order to sell your titles on your own retail web site or by CDROM, with secure DRM activation.
In this case, Mobipocket proposes a specific Publisher-Retailer agreement, which you can enter independantly of the Publisher agreement.

• Complete the Publisher Application. Identify your key contacts and establish levels of security for your personnel to add inventory, set pricing and discount levels, and to audit all sales and transaction activity.

• Approved publishers receive email notice of acceptance and are provided a private login ID and password.
  
  
• For each eBook title placed into eBookBase, the publisher determines the suggested retail price, wholesale discount or margin, and the level of DRM.
  
  
• Publishers may also upload, edit, and manage marketing and metadata for each eBook title in eBookBase, including attaching additional jacket copy, cover art, reviews and other promotional information.
  
  
• eBookBase receives and processes electronic orders from Member Retailers based on the price and DRM terms set by the publisher. All customers will receive their downloaded eBook directly from the eBookBase servers as an invisible transaction from the retailer.
  
  
• Publishers may access, monitor and manage all eBook inventory 24/7, including adding/deleting titles and changing prices.
  
  
• eBookBase will deliver complete detailed transaction reports and remit all payments to publishers on a quarterly basis.
  
  

Note: eBookBase takes advantage of many advanced browser features for adding and managing data using forms. To utilize these advanced features, users are required to use Version 5.5 of Internet Explorer on a Windows PC or a Macintosh running Virtual PC. Older versions of Internet Explorer are not supported by eBookBase.
