Reviews:
This is one of a new generation of novels where the heroine is both all powerful and at the same time insecure and neurotic. The novel then introduces a brooding byronic hero who is suitably tourtured and loving. However, as neither character is one that the reader could identify with, the story is a difficult read that is abruptly cut off with more questions asked than answered.
I prefer a novel to be a story in its own right, not just the opening chapter of a poor series.
Feather is a tale of timeless yet forbidden and dangerous love. The Cascades of Washington provide a colorful backdrop for this powerful story.
I am now obsessed with this book. My friend recently sent it to me and I wasn't able to put it down until I was done! The story is captivating and I cannot wait until the future books come out. This book series has the promise to be made into a movie series.
I could not put this book down! The plot progressed in an accelerating and unpredictable manner that nearly left me breathless. The protagonist, Elle, was compelling but not endearing because of her inability to form bonds with her peers. She knew that she possed unusual "gifts" and kept her secrets from others. However, sometimes her ability to make all life flourish around her would escape her control and brand her as a "freak". She experienced a low level depression without sorrow and never felt joy or contentment; she always felt as though something in her was missing. As the plot unfolds the reader is drawn into Elle's isolated world.
As much as I enjoyed this compelling tale I found the spelling errors and editorial mistakes distracting. I am very much looking forward to reading the next book in this series but I sincerely hope that the editing is improved.
the book was amazing, a new obsession after the Twilight series, and Book Two: "Guardian" looks promising, if not better (excerpt at end of book One). It's a hybrid of Golden Compass, Twilight, and Hylander the movie. If you like smart-aleck angels, and the chemistry experienced between Bella and Edward in Twilight, this is your book! Magical, just like the Authors name.
Abracadabra...
A world where you feel like anything is possible and concievable. The main characters are unique, and yet the story is timeless. Love that spans eternity, and action that gets our hearts pumping...
