Présentation de l'éditeur :
Written by Juan Pablo Jalisco, winner of The Preditors & Editors Best Poet of 2008 Award. The poetry within this volume is spell binding and captivating. His writing makes the reader yearn for Mexico, a country far larger than most people appreciate; its mountains, deserts, forests and beaches, together with its history and sheer cultural diversity are a never-ending source of inspiration to Juan. Some of the works in this volume include:Mexico, Dia de los muertos (Festival of the Day of the Dead), Song of Coyoacan, Matador, Juan Pablo and the Dolphin, The Rhythm of Romance, Hummingbird, Where Dolphins Play, Lonely Without You, Of Aztecs and Conquistadors, and Recuerdo de Mexico (Souvenir of Mexico) - to name but a few of the 43 marvellous works that grace this book. Juan's romantic and highly dramatic poetry covers a plethora of subjects from the cacti that grow in the Sonora desert to the violence of the Mexican Revolution, the Civil War, and of course matters of the heart, to love and family. This 146 page collection is the perfect showcase for Jalisco's talent.
L'avis de l'éditeur :
I'll freely admit that a book of poetry has never been one that I'll grab from a library shelf. All I've known about poetry is that it's supposed to rhyme. With Of Aztecs and Conquistadors, I wasn't sure if Juan Pablo Jalisco could hold my interest long enough to get me past the first page. But besides the fact that his words allowed me to see the iguanas at the old temple, the aged matador sitting in the doorway, the beautiful love for Maria Conchita Moreno, and the delightful swim with the wild dolphin, he surprised me in the simple fact that I understood what I read...and I enjoyed it! Way to go, Juan. Miss Mae, Best Selling Author See No Evil, My Pretty Lady Said the Spider to the Fly
