In her "Nightmares & Daydreams" short story collection, Barbara weaves scary tales in which, after you read them, you find ourself cautiously entering a room and looking over our shoulder. They stick in your head by the time you get to bed and you pull the covers over your head to avoid dark corners. But then you have nightmares. That's the kind of effect Barbara's stories will have on you. You just can't wait for morning to arrive.
I especially liked "Awaken Spirit". It will make you believe. Passage Way to Hell sent chills up my spine. Trust me, her writing has a chilling and emotional impact. You put yourself in the character's shoes and you can't get the stories out of your head.
Clowns scare me, and so do dolls. So if that's your phobia, be sure to read Spirits of a Jester. It reminds me of m own beliefs that spirits can inhabit inanimate objects, and Barbara skillfully makes me relive my own nightmares of scary objects. But gosh darn it, I do love stories of possessed dolls, and I especially loved this one.
So if you want a good scare, curl up in bed with all the lights on, and read Nightmares and Daydreams. But remember that sooner or later you will need to turn the lights out. Good luck! Please have nightmares!

Think this is one of the best short stories out there, you would be crazy not to buy!!!!
A friend suggested this book of short stories to me, and I'm glad he did! It was a mixture of genre... I would best describe it as a hybrid genre. Each story while unique, contained a mixture of horror, paranormal, suspense, and a touch of romance. I would love to read more from this author.
