Thus, if the inner condition is not exactly understood, throwing coins for an I Ching reading can direct one toward a better understanding of one's inner state and needs.

The Book of Changes is relatively easy to use: Pose a question of significance, toss three coins to form a "hexagram" and then consult the I itself to read the meanings of the hexagram. These meanings point toward the nature of the question's posing, identifying the changes underway and forthcoming in your life. The resolution is expressed in deeply poetic language. The I Ching never provides a yes or no answer, but if its words are contemplated, amazing insight can result.
