I would have purchased this if I could have used the audio with my Palm Centro.
Why must I purchase another device just to hear this? My Palm TX is Windows media compatible (WMP 11), I can use Audible Books, Rhapsody, and iTunes. Were you just being lazy? Perhaps you have an innovative programmer sitting around that can utilize his think box and satisfy us the forgotten few, the Palm users.
I've been studying languages for over a decade. In that time, I've seen more than my share of self-study programs. Unfortunately, most of them are mediocre at best or make impossible promises. The few that are worth your time are waaay too expensive (ahem Pimsleur). Assimil is definitely one of the best programs I've used. I've used it to learn Greek and Japanese (kinda ^^). They do a good job of immersing you immediately into the language and gradually introducing new concepts, while constantly re-introducing old concepts so they won't be forgotten. There is no need to study grammar. The emphasis of this program is learning the way you learned your first language, through absorption and assimilation. My only complaint would be that the excercises provided at the end of each chapter are overly simplistic and don't require enough brain power to complete.
This is a great program, hard to believe that on your PDA you can have so much information. The sound when connected to my ear plugs is exellent and following along with the translation is simple. I am using a E-200 casio.
What a way to learn a language, the price is not bad either considering all that you get.
