The Geographic Information Science and Technology Body of Knowledge is the result of over a decade of effort by many leading GIScience researchers and educators and represents an initial effort to compile the wide range of skills and concepts that comprise the field of geographic information science and technology (GIS&T). Organized thematically by "knowledge areas," the GIS&T Body of Knowledge presents a broad diversity of topics, ranging from analytical methods and data modeling to GIS&T in society. It is expected that this book and its subsequent editions will become an important reference work and classroom resource for teachers, students, and GIS&T professionals alike.
