Description:
A Divine Transition is a true, court-documented story about an elderly, developmentally disabled woman, Marion Hume. The author, Patti Harter, was her guardian who unknowingly fulfilled the remarkable requests made on Marion's behalf by her deceased mother in a sequestered Last Will and Testament she had never seen. Partly autobiographical, A Divine Transition is poignant and heartwarming. It will leave you believing in divine providence and better understanding the metaphysical nature of the universe. Author Bio While spending much of her time as a human rights advocate, Patti Harter earned her living as a discounter for the Society of Professional Engineers in Aerospace. As a sponsor, promoter, and spokeswoman of long-term health care she has worked with the Sisters of Providence and the Association for Retarded Citizens, and has also volunteered her services with the National Indian Child Welfare Association. Upon retirement, she moved to Eastern Washington and initiated a dog rescue program. This is her first book.
Publisher's opinion:
Marion Hume's story of a developmentally disabled woman in her 70s who was inappropriately evicted from her apartment is a compelling and heartwarming true story that helps us see how we, too, can become the hands and feet of God in this world. This is a tragic and triumphant tale that will both break your heart and lift you high in ecstasy at the incredible miracles that result from Patti Harter's powerful commitment to helping Marion in her time of need. --Rev. Stephen Towles A Divine Transition is a heartwarming story about two incredible women. It is threaded with divine appointments as Marion Hume and her guardian, Patti Harter, journey home -- first to the apartment in Ballard and then to the larger Home where we shall all one day return. This is a story of compassion and kindness in a world where these attributes become harder to find and a lesson in facing obstacles with faith and prayer. --Rev. Karen Lindvig
