I have been using the beta version which actually worked well for me. Then today, I decided to upgrade to the non-beta version by doing an OTA install (http://m.mobipocket.com/)
It installed and then when I opened the application, I get this nice screen "Mobipocket Reader" and then "Please wait..."
I have been waiting long and nothing happens with this screen. I have tried to soft reset/doing battery pull and still gets the same screen when I try to open Mobipocket reader.
I am using a Blackberry Curve 8320.

The first opening after the installation of the latest BB Reader does take some time.
Do you have a lot of eBooks in your library? How much free space do you have on your main memory?
Have you updated your BB's ROM?

I have maybe 5 books in my memory card. I have the latest BB operating system for my 8320 (v4.2.2.184). I will try to delete all the books from the memory card and see if this will help.

Also, I have more than 10MB free in my main memory and I have a 4GB microSD card.

I have tried to uninstall and then reinstall using the desktop software...still no go...when I open the mobipocket reader on my BB 8320, it opens the splash screen...then shows a yellow box stating "Please wait..." and nothing happens
It stays this way for 30 mins...I got tired of it so I push the "end call" button to get out of this application. I really want to read my ebooks...can someone please send me the beta version? The beta version worked well for me...this "final release" version is not working at all.

Any follow up on this? I managed to get a lower/beta version of 6.0 that is working for me...still can't log in using my account (using BB) but otherwise, I can at least read my ebooks.
With the new version, when it is "initializing", is it actually trying to connect online? If that is the case, then I think that is the problem. I really don't care for online connection using my BB since I always use my mac to just load books to my microsd card.

Where did you get the old Beta version? I have the same experience on my BB8820 and after several communications with Mobipocket sitll "no joy". My old Beta version worked fine and I would love to have it back
