Hello Berowne,
Motorola does have software APIs for C++ and Java (I have downloaded the SDKs for the A1000, M1000 and the A925). But these APIs are on the phone only and not for the Desktop Suite. So far, none of the Motorola Desktop Suites has a documented API.
Mobipocket Reader Desktop does however support the Motorola Desktop Suite for the A925/A920. This is because this specific Desktop Suite uses a COM component that was provided and documented Symbian. However, the later Desktop Suites (for the A1000 and the M1000) do not have this component anymore.
It might be possible that initially the Desktop Suite for the A1000 was the same as the Desktop Suite for the A920/A925, or that the Desktop Suite for the A920/A925 also works with the A1000. To me, that would be the only explanation why you were able to synchronize the A1000 with Mobipocket.
Best regards,
Fabien
